SIBRID EDUCATION

In quest for some normality in our lives, it is of utmost urgency that our learning institutions - primary schools, secondary schools and higher education - are reopened cautiously and safely for children and young adults to physically attend in person at the earliest possible date.  Parents are looking for assurance that their children will be settled in a safe school environment while they are at work.  School reopenings and physical attendance of students will occur under safety guidance protocols of the CDC, school districts, regional, city, state, and/or federal government.

Overall, education has absorbed a super jolt - an educational shift into technological 21st Century Teaching and Learning.  This forward movement in education may be worth our attention and dedication to embracing and implementing more seriously a focus on expending technology usage in our education systems and cultures.

We should not look ever-so-steadfastly to returning solely to pre-coronavirus pandemic education modalities.  We have experienced what was imminently the future of education.  These 21st Century technological adjustments will inevitably make the lives of children, young adults and families, as well as teachers/professors easier and better.  Parents, their young children and higher education students should be afforded school model choices that are presently available, especially during this raging Covid-19 pandemic.

While there are several education models to reopening schools, let us look at one of the most practical possibility for safe and cautious reopening of large urban inner-city schools full-time, with a slight twist.   The Sibrid Education Model provides a clear path for true teaching and learning engagement, whether students are Onlne or in an actual classroom.  Some funds should be allocated in technology to address long-term education use, not just only for the temporary adjustments to preventing the covid-19 contagion.

SAFE CHOICE REOPENING MODEL FOR LARGE URBAN INNER-CITY SCHOOLS:

SIBRID EDUCATION MODEL

The Sibrid Education Model brings simultaneity in online and in-person/on campus teaching and learning engagement.

The Covid-19 pandemic propelled instantaneously all learning institutions into the 21st Century.  The world was forced to learn how to teleconference, distance teach and learn, as well as telework.   While the pandemic continues to ravage the U.S., and other  countries,  Movements In Education recommends the use of the Sibrid Education Model to reopening the large urban schools safely and cautiously for Fall 2020 and perhaps, beyond.

        -  Sibrid education requires and maintains continuity of instruction through, realtime, simultaneous Online and In-Person/On Campus teaching and learning protocols.   In that, half (.5) of a class of students is learning Online at home with parents or other supportive adults, while the other half (.5) of the class of students is physically in their classroom in the presence of their teacher/instructor engaged in teaching, learning and sharing.

          -  Sibrid Education infuses 21st Century Technology in education to facilitate flexibility in organization, class size and attendance for dual modality in delivering and accepting instructions.  As the pandemic lingers, some classrooms may be designed to safeguard teachers/professors and/or students with pre-existing medical conditions.

         -  Sibrid Education is designed with families with young children and college students in mind.  It enhances real active engagement and maintains strict school time routines for primary and secondary school children when at Home-School-Online.   This live-learning interaction and actually seeing friends in school should limit boredom and the disconnect usually found with children and most young adults during online learning. Finally, college and university students can appreciate the extension of being active participants in scheduled lectures while remaining safe in their dormitory rooms.
